When I first dressed in my ankara outfit in America, I immediately noticed people’s eyes fixed on the patterns, colors, and overall design. I also noticed the urge to want to hear my story. At that very moment, I knew I was obligated to talk about my culture and the black experience in the most beautiful way possible.
